One of the reasons we run a free bee rescue program is to add vaulable bee genetics to our own apiaries. We collect bee from all over Northern California. These bees are true survivors and do well in our climate/condtions. Some as in the case of a 50 years hive, have truly stood the test of time. We add these bees to our genetic line developing the most amazing honey producing bees for our cool coastal area. This is what you are buying when you buy bees from us.

We don't believe in the factory produced bees that many new bee keepers get in packages. Many times these are bees that have been worn out in the almond fields, then packaged with a new queen (which are bred by the thousands) and sent out to you in the spring. Most of these bees are exposed bee viruses and diseases when trucked around by the thousands from commercial pollination fields. Many of these bees die, don't make it through a season and new bee keepers often wonder why they had such poor success.

We have for LOCAL pick up only 10 frame bee hives. That is a complete bee hive with top, bottom, brood box, 10 brood frames full of bees and a queen. Everything you need to get started producing your own honey!
